Cerith Snails (Cerithium sp.) Care
Cerith Snails come from the genus Cerithium and are also commonly known as Tower Snails. They have beautiful long, spiral shells.
These snails are omnivores and should get most, if not all, of their dietary requirements from algae and detritus in the tank. They are great at controlling diatoms and microalgae, but will not help with filamentous algae.
Cerith will only grow to about 1″ in size and can be kept in tanks as small as 10 gallons. They will do best in a well-established tank with lots of live rock and sand.
They are easy to care for and totally reef safe.
NOTE: They can be very sensitive to changes in salinity so be sure to give them plenty of acclimation time.
