Gold Coral Banded Shrimp (Stenopus zanzibaricus) Care
The Gold Coral Banded Shrimp, Stenopus zanzibaricus, is also known as the Gold Banded Coral Shrimp. These shrimp come from Indo-Pacific and Western Atlantic Ocean regions. They have a golden-yellow body with red and white striped legs and tail.
These shrimp are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods – if they can not find enough food scavenging in the tank, you can supplement their diet with pieces of clam, fish, and shrimp or live brine shrimp.
Gold Banded Coral Shrimp can reach lengths of about 2½″ and can be housed in everything between nano tanks and large aquariums. They are generally peaceful but may fight with other males of their kind.
They are reef safe.
NOTE: These shrimp are very sensitive to changes in salinity so acclimation should be done very slowly.
