Tile Sea Star – Red Pink (Fromia monilis) Care
The Tile Sea Star, Fromia monilis, is also known as the Orange Star and Orange Marble Star. These sea stars come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have an orange to red body and arms with ivory colored spots.
They are omnivores and do best in a well-established aquarium with plenty of algae, detritus, and organic matter for them to feed on. Their food can be supplemented with algae pellets.
Tile Sea Star’s can grow up to 5″ and require an aquarium of at least 30 gallons with plenty of live rock and a deep sand bed. They are peaceful and will not harm corals, fish nor other invertebrates.
NOTE: These sea stars are very sensitive to changes in salinity so acclimation should be done very slowly.
