Marble Starfish (Fromia sp.) Care
The Marble Starfish, Fromia sp, is also known as the Indian sea star. These sea stars come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a red body with black tips.
They are sand-sifting omnivores and do best in a well-established aquarium with plenty of algae, detritus, and organic matter for them to feed on. Their food can be supplemented with a variety of foods including mysis and brine shrimp, high-quality frozen foods and flake and pellet foods.
Marble Starfish can grow up to 6″ and require an aquarium of at least 30 gallons with plenty of live rock and a deep sand bed. They are peaceful and will not harm corals nor fish. They may bother some small invertebrates.
NOTE: These sea stars are very sensitive to changes in salinity so acclimation should be done very slowly. They should NEVER be exposed to air.
