Sponge “Bob” Crab (Domecia acanthophora) Care
The Sponge Crab, Domecia acanthophora, is also known as Elkhorn Coral Crabs. These crabs come from the Western Atlantic Ocean. These crabs collects pieces of sponge, anemones, coral polyps and other items and attaches them to its body for camoflage.
They are omnivores and will eat high-quality meaty foods, flake food, and pellets.
They require an aquarium of at least 20 gallons with live rock and a deep sand bed. They are semi-aggressive and may harm other invertebrates.
