Emerald Crab (Mithraculus sculptus) Care
The Emerald Crab, Mithraculus sculptus, comes from the Western Atlantic Ocean, including the Caribbean Sea. They have an emerald green body and claws with hairy, dark green legs.
These scavengers are algae eating machines and can help rid an aquarium of various types of nuisance algae.
They require an aquarium of at least 10 gallons with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. They are semi-aggressive, but won’t typically bother other tank-mates unless they do not have enough to eat. Larger crabs will become predatory and eat other smaller animals in the aquarium including fish, coral, and inverts.
