Katherine’s Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus katherinae) Care
The Katherine’s Fairy Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus katherinae, is a highly sought after fairy wrasse for it vibrant colors and it’s rareness in the hobby. It is very likely this fish will hide for a few days when first introduced to a new tank.
Katherine’s Fairy Wrasses are strong jumpers and need a tank with tight fitted covering to prevent them from getting out. They should be kept in a tanks with plenty of swimming room, some sand substrate, and lots of rock work to hide and sleep in. They do not need a deep sand bed to bury themselves in at night. Instead they may form a mucus cocoon or wedge themselves into rock crevices. Should they form a cocoon to sleep in there is no need to remove it from the tank as it is not harmful.
The reason this fish is rated as intermediate is that not a lot of care information exists for this species and is not recommended to those who are new to the hobby.
These fish are carnivores and will eat most regular aquarium food such as finely chopped frozen or fresh meaty foods. You can feed them mysis, squid, shrimp, clam two to three times a day.
