Bicolor Cleaner Wrasse (Labroides bicolor) Care
The Bicolor Cleaner Wrasse,Labroides bicolor, is also known as Two Color Cleaner Wrasse and is a very active and fast moving fish. With such a high level metabolism they require large amounts of food two to three times a day. They are found across the Indian Ocean and areas along southern Japan and will reach a maximum size of nearly 5 inches and are strong jumpers and need a tank with tight fitted covering to prevent them from getting out. You should keep them in a tank with plenty of swimming room, a deep sand bed made of a fine sand substrate, and rock work to hide and sleep in.
Each fish starts its life as females, and then in a group the strongest female changes its sex and becomes male, and this occurrence is known as sequential hermaphroditism.
Bicolor Cleaner Wrasses must be in a large aquarium with plenty of fish to clean as they feed on parasites, mucus and dead skin on client fish. When this is not possible their diet should be supplemented with brine and mysis shrimp, other small meaty foods along with high quality flake and pellet food. Because of this we are classifying the as expert-only.
