Undulated Trigger (Balistapus undulatus) Care
The Undulated Trigger, Balistapus undulatus, is also known as the Orange-lined Triggerfish and the Orangetailed Triggerfish. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a green body with various blue and orange stripes running in varying directions. These fish are VERY aggressive and will attach all other tank mates, aquarium equipment, and even scratch glass an acrylic.
Triggers are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as brine and mysis shrimp and pieces of high-quality seafood like squid, clams, shrimp, fish, and scallops.
Undulate Triggers can reach up to 12″ and require an aquarium of at least 180 gallons with plenty of live rock with hiding places. They are very aggressive and will likely attack anything else living in the aquarium.
They are not reef safe.
