Three-Line Snapper (Scolopsis trilineatus) Care
The Three-Line Snapper, Scolopsis trilineatus, also known the Three-line Monocle-bream comes from Fiji and can grow to a length of 10 inches. This fish is white with three horizontal black lines on it’s body and has a silver underside. These fish should only be kept in a FOWLR (Fish Only with Live Rock) aquarium of 180 gallons or more with plenty of live rock and a fine sand bed of an inch or two. Scolopsis is a genus of threadfin breams native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean.
As with all Scolopsis species, they are sand sifting/stirring fish similar to that of gobies.
A normal diet should consist of vitamin enriched brine and mysis shrimp, fish, crustaceans, clams, shrimp, and other meaty marine foods. Be sure to chop the foods into fine pieces.
