Red Striped Goby (Trimma cana) Care
Overview
The Red Striped Goby, Trimma cana, is also known as the Candycane Pygmy Goby and the Orange Banded Goby. These fish come from the Western Pacific Ocean. They have a whitish-tan body with several orange-red vertical bars.
These gobies are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood.
Red Striped Gobies require an aquarium of 10 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
