Hi Fin Red Banded Goby (Stonogobiops nematodes) Care
The Hi Fin Red Banded Goby, Stonogobiops nematodes, it is also known as the Filament-finned Prawn Goby and the Black Ray Shrimpgoby. These fish come from the Indo-West Pacific region. They have a silver-white body with multiple slanted black bands across the body and a yellow face.
Hi Fin Red Banded Gobies will form a symbiotic relationship with some pistol shrimp as well and share a burrow.
These gobies are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood.
Hi Fin Red Banded Gobies require an aquarium of 10 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
