Dragon Sleeper Goby (Amblygobius phalaena) Care
The Dragon Sleeper Goby, Amblygobius phalaena, is also known as the Whitebarred Goby, the Banded Goby, and the Dragon Goby. These fish come from the Pacific and Indian Oceans. They have a greenish gray body with narrow dark vertical bands and a black spot just behind the gill plate and the upper tail.
These gobies are omnivores and require a diet rich in meaty and plant foods, such as marine algae, mysis and brine shrimp, and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood.
Dragon Gobies require an aquarium of 30 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
