Decorated Goby (Istigobius decoratus) Care
Overview
The Decorated Goby, Istigobius decoratus, comes from the Indo-West Pacific region. They have a mottled brown body with white spots and a broken black line down the side.
These gobies are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood. These fish are sand sifters and will eat small food in the sand.
Decorated Gobies require an aquarium of 20 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
