Neon Dottyback (Pseudochromis aldabraensis) Care
The Neon Dottyback, Pseudochromis aldabraensis, is also known as the Orange Dottyback and the Arabian Blueline Dottyback. These fish come from the Indian Ocean. They have a yellowish-orange body with a horizontal neon blue stripe from the nose to the tail across the top and several small blue lines on the face.
Dottybacks are very territorial and will hold their ground again fish significantly larger than themselves.
These fish are carnivores and require a diet rich in both meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and finely chopped seafood.
The Neon Dottyback can grow to be about 4″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons with live rock and plenty of room for swimming.
These fish are hardy, easy to care for, and will leave coral alone; however, they will attack smaller fish and invertebrates.
