Indigo Dottyback (Pseudochromis sankeyi) Care
The Indigo Dottyback, Pseudochromis sankeyi, is also known as the Striped Dottyback and Sankey’s Dottyback. These fish come from the Western Indian Ocean, from the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden. They have a white body with thick horizontal black stripes.
These fish are carnivores and require a diet rich in both meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and finely chopped seafood.
The Indigo Dottyback can grow to be about 3″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons with live rock and plenty of room for swimming. Unlike many dottybacks, the Indigo Dottyback is less territorial than most.
These fish are hardy, easy to care for, and will leave coral along; however, they are known to nip at small invertebrates.
