Bar Goby (Ptereleotris zebra) Care
The Bar Goby, Ptereleotris zebra, is also known as the Chinese Zebra Goby, Zebra Dartfish, and the Zebra Barred Dartfish. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific and Western Indian Ocean regions. They have a silvery-green body with a number of thin horizontal pink/orange lines.
These fish are a great fish for beginners and are great schooling fish.
Gobies are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp and other types of fresh or frozen chopped seafood. They will normally eat any zooplankton they can find floating in the water column.
Bar Gobies require an aquarium of 30 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and a deep sand bed. They are known to jump and will leap out of tanks without a lid. They are peaceful fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish.
They are reef safe and will not bother corals, fish, but will eat tiny invertebrates.
