Onyx Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion percula) – Wild – Care
The Onyx Percula Clownfish is a variant of the Percula Clownfish, Amphiprion percula. The body has irregular white bars and banding with dark black accents along the bands and fins. These fish are graded based on the patterns and colors.
Clownfish are omnivores and require a diet rich in both meaty and plant foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp, marine algae, and flake food. They love their food and may be aggressive when it comes to sharing with other tankmates.
The Onyx Percula Clownfish can grow to be about 3″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons. These clownfish are hardy and vary from peaceful to semi-aggressive depending on the fish and the tank environment.
These fish are reef safe and will not bother coral or invertebrates.
