Blue Green Reef Chromis (Chromis viridis) Care
The Blue Green Reef Chromis, Chromis viridis, is also known as the Green Chromis and the Blue Green Damselfish. These fish come from the across the Indo-Pacific region. They are a great fish for beginners; these pretty and hardy fish have a bright blue-green body that changes depending on the lighting.
Chromis are omnivores and require a diet rich in meaty and plant foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp, marine algae, and flake food. They should be fed multiple times a day.
The Blue Green Chromis will only grow to about 4″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons. Most of the fish in the Chromis species are hardy, peaceful, and best kept in groups of at least five to seven. They need plenty of swimming room and are very active.
These fish are reef safe and will not bother coral or invertebrates.
