Longspine Cardinalfish (Zoramia leptacantha) Care
The Longspine Cardinalfish, Zoramia leptacantha, is also known as the Threadfin Cardinalfish, Glass Cardinalfish, Bluestreak Cardinalfish, and White Cardinal. These fish come from across the Indo-Pacific region. They have a transparent looking body with iridescent blue and yellow markings on the belly and around the eyes.
Cardinalfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood and flake food.
The Longspine Cardinal will only grow to about 3″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 10 gallons with plenty of hiding places. They are best kept in small groups of up to 5 with other non-aggressive fish.
These fish are considered reef safe with caution because they may threaten small fish and invertebrates.
