Japanese Basslet (Liopropoma susumi) Care
The Japanese Basslet, Liopropoma susumi, is also known as the Meteor Perch. These fish come from the Indo-West Pacific Ocean. They have a cream-colored body with several dark red horizontal lines.
They are carnivores and should be fed a diet of small meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp, copepods, small marine fish, and other frozen foods.
Japanese Basslets require an aquarium of a least 30 gallons that have plenty of live rock with hiding places. In nature, these are deep water fish and they prefer lower lighting and are considered reef friendly with caution. They will establish their territory in an aquarium and should not be housed with others of their species.
