Xanthurus Cream Angelfish (Apolemichthys xanthurus) Care
The Xanthurus Cream Angelfish, Apolemichthys xanthurus, is also known as the referred to as the Indian Yellowtail Angelfish, Smoke Angelfish, and the Indian Yellowtail Angelfish. These fish come from the Western Indian Ocean. They have a cream-colored body with dark lattice pattern across it. The dorsal and anals fins are black and trimmed with white, while the tail is yellow.
These fish are omnivores and require a diet including marine algae, mysis and brine shrimp, and angelfish food. They should be fed a couple of times a day.
Xanthurus Cream Angelfish do best in an aquarium that is at least 125 gallons or more and that has plenty of live rock to graze on and hide in. They do not do well when housed with other angelfish.
They are only considered reef safe with caution because they have been known to nip at clam mantles and corals.
