Half Black Angelfish (Centropyge vroliki) Care
The Half Black Angelfish, Centropyge vroliki, is also known as the Pearlscale Angelfish. They are found in the Western Pacific Ocean. The front of the body is a beautiful pearl color and the back section is solid black.
These fish are omnivores and should be fed a mix of marine algae, angelfish food, and a variety of small meaty foods. The Pearlscale Angelfish does best in an aquarium that is at least 70 gallons or more and has plenty of live rock to graze on and hide in. Ideally, this will only be the dwarf an aquarium as they will become territorial when other angels are present.
They are considered reef safe with caution because they have been known to nip at clam mantles, zoanthids, and both soft and stony corals.
